Esther's more of the pink wearer but I saw this coat and had to have it. It will probably clash too much to be able to wear it on my bright orange scooter but I'm sure I'll find somewhere to wear it.When I tried it on all I could think of was that it would be perfect for my trip to Germany in March! Oh, and of course Funny Face.

So I'm relatively new to LA and have yet to find any amazing consignment stores. Basically I'm looking for a west coast equivalent of Beacon's Closet. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Meine Großmutter

This April, my grandmother turns 90 years old. The folks and I are planning a surprise party (SHH... Don't tell!!) and in preparation I am preparing a photo display. I couldn't resist sharing some of my favorites.


Love the pompadours and fur collars! Somehow I find it hard to believe they were necessary in Alabama, but the idea of 'fashion over function' is something I can understand very well :)

Grandma, pictured above on the far left, told me she grew up wearing clothes her mother sewed by hand. It wasn't until she graduated high school and began working at local factories that Grandma purchased pre-made clothes. Some more of my favorites below.

I've been checking NewportNews.com daily waiting for this dress to go on sale. It reminds me of Zooey Deschanel's dress from (500) Days of Summer that I am in love with. It's a little too romantic for my style but I'm up for trying new looks. Plus, if I feel too girly I can always throw on a belt and tights to toughen it up a bit. It's currently $89.00....I'm not allowed to purchase it until it's down to $50.00.

I was browsing fashion blogs and stumbled upon this woman rocking blue crush velvet leggings and now I'm tempted to test them out for myself. I realize that their verbal description invokes a terrible, terrible image but this lovely lady's version is actually quite nice.
